Aged-Care Programmes
Tembusu Eldercare Centre
Background
In March 2013, Sathya Sai Social Service (4S) collaborated with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) to implement the Singapore Programme for Integrated Care for the Elderly (SPICE) at Block 3 Eunos Crescent and named the programme Tembusu Eldercare Centre (SPICE).
On 1 Sep 17, the centre swapped premises with Tembusu Senior Activity (TSAC) and was relocated from Block 3 Eunos Crescent to Block 31A Eunos Crescent. The relocation facilitates optimal use of space and accessibility for the services delivered at the respective centres. The centre was subsequently renamed Tembusu Eldercare Centre (TEC).
On 1 Jul 18, TEC converted from SPICE to the Integrated Home and Day Care (IHDC) programme. IHDC is a comprehensive home and centre-based programme in the community to suit the increasing complex and diverse care needs of the frail elderly and their families.
It offers personalised care packages to support seniors with multiple care needs so that they can live and age well in the community for as long as possible. The service users have the flexibility of getting different combination of care services in their homes, at TEC or both, depending on their needs.
Service Boundary
TEC’s service boundary covers the eastern region of Singapore including Bedok, Chai Chee, Eunos, Geylang Bahru, Geylang, MacPherson, Marine Parade, Mountbatten and Ubi.
Programmes and Services
The day centre aims at providing “affordable, reliable and professional day care service in a safe, clean and caring environment”.
Elderly persons who are frail and require supervision and supportive care, rehabilitative treatment and self-care can benefit from the programme. Support and caregiver training are available to families/caregivers to help them care for their loved ones at home, relieve care-giving stress and assist in managing social difficulties.
